Words from Critter Creek Animal Sanctuary 

Claire and 11 other cows were left in a neighboring field during the winter when the grass wasn’t growing. There was no food and no water. They were foraging on weeds and drinking out of a swamp. We watched them get skinnier and skinnier. One day we saw a bull in the field, and we realized the “owner” was trying to breed them. What kind of person starves his animals and then breeds them, further stressing their bodies? We realized at that point we had to rescue them. After figuring out who “owned” them, we worked out with him that the whole herd come over to our place.
